About the festival

V Litiji bo dogajanje potekalo 20. junija 2026.

Danes so Rdeči revirji prepoznavni v Zasavju in širše, poleg slovenskih prihajajo tuji umetniki, množično sodelujejo tudi lokalne skupine in posamezniki. Namen festivala ostaja sodelovanje in povezovanje ljudi, ponuditi jim nova doživetja in spoznanja, vpogled v umetniška ustvarjanja, druženja z umetniki od blizu in daleč.

Vztrajali bomo še naprej, s kvaliteto večali prepoznavnost in pomembnost v regiji, gradili
občinstvo in v Zasavje vabili tudi druge, kulture željne.”
Branko Potočan, umetniški in idejni vodja festivala

SREČNO!

The traditional Red Beats Festival (Rdeči revirji) is celebrating its 24th anniversary. The opening of the festival will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in Hrastnik, where we will gather until Sunday, May 31. In Zagorje, festival events will take place on May 29 and 30. In Trbovlje, the festival programme will run from June 18 to 20, 2026. In Litija, festival events will take place on June 20, 2026.

The co-organizers and partners of the festival are VITKAR Institute, KRC Hrastnik, Youth Center Hrastnik, Društvo Šula itd., Youth Center Zagorje ob Savi, Institute for Youth, Sports and Tourism Trbovlje, Delavski dom Trbovlje, and the Institute for Culture, Youth and Sports Litija.

The purpose of our festival remains the presentation of diverse artistic genres and forms, as well as the richness and immediacy that bring life to the streets of the Zasavje region and help make cultural content accessible to the widest possible audience. Most importantly, especially in these times, the festival is about gathering together and enjoying the events — both during and after them. The festival continues to balance the sharpness of artistic expression on one side with humour and playfulness on the other.

We wish you many enjoyable moments at the festival events!

“The Red Beats Festival is my pride and joy. Along my creative journey as a dancer and choreographer, I have learned a great deal, met many people, and collaborated with Slovenian and international artists from various fields of performing arts (dance, theatre, circus, clown cabaret, street theatre, street interventions, fire performances, puppet theatre, and more). I felt both the need and the mission to bring a part of this world to my hometown. More than twenty years ago, when we were breaking new ground, it was difficult. We established partnerships with local collaborators and, with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, local communities, and sponsors, we gradually built the festival’s significance and recognition year after year. Art and culture connect people, and after ten years we expanded the festival to the neighbouring municipalities of Trbovlje and Zagorje, making it a festival of the Zasavje region. In 2025, Litija also joined us, and the festival became truly representative of the entire Zasavje region.

Today, Red Beats Festival is well recognized both in Zasavje and beyond. Alongside Slovenian artists, international performers also take part, while local groups and individuals participate in large numbers. The festival’s purpose remains cooperation and connection between people — offering them new experiences and insights, a glimpse into artistic creation, and opportunities to meet and engage with artists from near and far. We will continue to persevere, strengthening the festival’s recognition and importance in the region through quality programming, building audiences, and inviting other culture enthusiasts to Zasavje.”
